Business Cards
A business card buys three seconds of undivided attention — we build cards that spend them well. Since 2006, Publicide has printed specialty business cards in NYC for startups, studios, galleries, and global houses: letterpress pressed deep into cotton, foil that catches the room's light, and edges painted in colors that don't occur in nature.
How our cards are built
Every card starts with stock: 1-, 2-, and 3-ply cottons up to 36pt and beyond, true black papers, kraft, mirror and metallic sheets, and duplexed builds with a color core that flashes only at the edge. Onto that stock goes the technique — usually two or three combined: a blind deboss under gold foil, white ink with a gilded edge, engraving for the firms that know. Plates and dies are made per design, inks are hand-mixed to Pantone (including fluorescents), and every job is proofed physically before the run.
There's no hard minimum — we've run 50 cards for a solo consultant and single press proofs for designers who needed to hold the thing before committing. Setup dominates the cost, so per-card price falls fast as quantity climbs.

Is there a minimum order?
No hard minimum — we've run 50 cards, and single press proofs for designers who need to hold it first. Setup dominates the cost, so per-card price drops steeply as quantity climbs.
What stocks are available?
Cotton papers 1- to 3-ply (36pt+ via duplexing), true black stocks, kraft, colored European sheets, mirror and metallic papers — with color cores between plies.
How long does a run take?
Typically 5–10 business days from approved proof, depending on technique count. Rush is a specialty — same-week is routine.
Can techniques be combined?
Yes — most of our favorite cards stack two or three: letterpress + foil, blind deboss + edge paint, white ink + gilding. Combining is the core of what we do.
