Wedding Invitations

The invitation is both prelude and promise. We treat it as an art form — letterpress impression you can feel, foil that catches candlelight, papers chosen by hand — so the first thing your guests touch is a keepsake, not a card.

Our curated stocks run from soft cottons and linens to specialty sheets — metallics, vellums, deep blacks. For the ultimate in presence, we duplex to thicknesses of 120pt and beyond, then finish the edges in paint or gilding so the invitation reads as an object, not a printout.

How a suite comes together

The techniques do the talking. Letterpress gives the tactile richness that makes people run a thumb across the type; foil stamping — gold, copper, or a modern neon — carries names and monograms with brilliance. Blind embossing and debossing add dimension without ink, die cutting shapes cards beyond the rectangle, and edge gilding puts a fine metallic line around the whole piece. Mix them: a blind-debossed pattern under gold foil type is a Publicide favorite.

Then the envelope — the true first impression. We print and convert envelopes to match the suite: lined in contrasting or metallic papers, return addresses in foil or ink, guest addressing coordinated with your calligrapher or set in type. Colored and black envelopes with white or gold ink are a specialty most printers won't touch. And day-of printing carries the design through the celebration itself — menus on iridescent stock, letterpress place cards, programs, table numbers, coasters on thick cotton. One design language from mailbox to last dance.

FAQ

How thick can invitations be?

Up to 120pt and beyond via duplexed cotton builds — invitation-as-object thickness, often finished with painted or gilded edges.

What goes in a full suite?

Invitation, reply card, details card, lined and addressed envelopes, plus day-of pieces: menus, place cards, programs, coasters — matching stock and technique throughout.

When should we order?

Specialty suites typically take 3–5 weeks from approved design, plus mailing time. Rush is possible — ask early.

Can you print on black or colored paper?

Yes — white ink, gold ink, and foil on black or deep-colored stock is a house specialty.
