Black Paper Printing
Printing on black paper requires specialized techniques. Standard inks will disappear into dark stocks, so we employ special white ink, foil stamping, and embossing that brings your design forward for sharp contrast and clean detail.
We print business cards, invitations, books, packaging, and hang tags on "true black" papers, not printed-black sheets. These paper stocks are black through the entire fiber, that way trimmed edges and folds stay dark. Every project is developed with material and method in mind. What works on black
White ink printing
Dedicated white ink printing lays coverage where standard inks would be absorbed and vanish into the paper. From fine typography to layered effects, multiple hits of white build on each other while keeping content crisp. The result is matte and best suited to uncomplicated designs. Metallic silver and gold inks work the same way but with more shine and shimmer.
Foil stamping
Foil stamping produces an opacity on black paper that can't be achieved any other way. Gold, silver, white, pigment colors, and holographic foils all stay sharply defined against dark backgrounds from tight designs to solid coverage. It's the highest-contrast, most durable mark you can put on a black sheet.
Embossing & debossing
Blind embossing shapes the sheet itself, creating tactile, dimensional marks defined entirely by light and shadow; no ink required. On black stock the effect is quietly luxurious, and it pairs beautifully with foil for registered emboss-plus-shine effects.
Black-on-black
Black isn't one color. Gloss black foil, spot UV coating, and raised thermography on matte black stock create tone-on-tone designs that reveal themselves as the piece moves in the light.

Can you print white on black paper?
Yes, dedicated white ink printing and white foil stamping are our two main methods. White ink builds opacity in multiple hits for a soft matte result; white foil is the sharpest, brightest white with a slight sheen.
What black paper weights are available?
True black stocks from lightweight text sheets (book pages, envelopes) up to 36pt/260# cover and beyond for business cards and packaging, including duplexed builds for extra thickness.
Does regular CMYK printing work on black paper?
Standard inks are transparent and disappear into dark stocks. We either underprint white beneath color or switch to opaque methods (foil, white and metallic inks, or embossing) depending on the design.
