Art Books

Exhibition catalogs, artist monographs, and limited editions — books where reproduction quality and object quality carry equal weight. Built to gallery standards, because galleries are who order them.

An art book has two jobs: get the work right on the page, and be worth keeping as an object. The first is a color problem — proofing against the artwork, choosing offset or digital per the imagery, running halftone and duotone treatments when black-and-white photography wants depth instead of flatness. The second is a bindery problem: Smyth-sewn blocks that lay flat across the gutter, covers in cloth, leather, or paper from the good mills, finished with foil, blind emboss, or nothing at all when restraint is the design.

We print for museums, galleries, and working artists: studio-program catalogs on black paper, blind-embossed monographs, die-cut artist books, editioned publications that accompany a show and outlive it. Runs are honest — a few hundred for an opening is normal, and a short run doesn't mean a lesser book.

If the project leans commercial — collections, campaigns, brand publications — that's our lookbook and magazine work. Same press, different job.
