EMBOSSING + EMBOSSED PRINTING | NYC
Embossing is an extra special method of raised printing that involves punching your logo or typography details upward with a die and counter die. Simply put: only the paper is raised, making it a stunningly beautiful print technique without ink (also called blind emboss). The pressmen at our New York City Based print shop emboss on-site, and we have many samples of the emboss technique on business cards, notecards, envelopes, stationery, folders and more.
Choose a tone-on-tone look with an ink-free blind emboss on white or light color paper. Go for a print worthy of The Met with a multidimensional, multi-level sculptured emboss. Add more definition & distinction with touches of a silver or gold foil stamp. Foil printing and emboss are highly compatible print methods allowing neatly-registered raised printing of glossy or shiny metallic lettering. Remember, what is punched upward appears as a recessed, punched down mirror image on the printed material’s reverse side. We can hide this sunken in effect by gluing a second piece of the same paper to the cards back, making it smooth and double-thick.
PRICING + PRINT PRODUCTION NOTES
Pricing for embossing is based on quantity, paper type and the number of processes and machines that will be used in creating your order. More elaborate and custom print specs cost considerably more than standard orders, so it’s important to get your quote before proceeding. Production time varies with order complexity and our seasonal workload but our elastic schedule allows for very fast rush prints when required, though rush charges apply. Turnaround time is calculated from the date of PDF proof approval. If your embossing project has a hard due-date please let us know when making your request. Email us with your design file or specs to receive a custom quote for your printing project. All projects must have a custom quote number to proceed.
Some embossing specs are available for rush printing service. To inquire about a rush job, please email artwork, print specifications and desired completion date ASAP to firstname.lastname@example.org. If we’re able to accommodate your schedule we will reply with pricing and additional costs for the rush. Rush black card printing is one of our specialties but please be aware that every moment counts in a rush print schedule. Some jobs will require additional shifts and weekend work to finish on time so the price can be significantly higher than jobs on a regular schedule.
