METALLIC PRINTING AND FOIL STAMPING | NYC
Publicide offers metallic printing at our Manhattan print shop using a variety of techniques and unique materials. While regular inks disappear into black or color paper stock, the metal components of metallic ink rest on the surface of the paper—allowing a sleek and mesmerizing shine that contrasts well and is highly legible on dark papers. Glittery metallic inks look great on white paper too; pressed in deep or raised printing right off the surface. Publicide has the equipment and experience to get the most from any artwork. Most metallic inks print best with heavy saturation, so with offset + letterpress, we often use multiple layers of the same color to build up opacity and shine.
Looking to add luster to your business stationery printing? Choose one of many sparkling metallic Pantone inks available to stamp deep into a soft cotton stock like Cranes or Savoy. Or keep it clean and smooth on a high-end premium uncoated paper; Superfine, Strathmore, + Classic Crest are some of the best! Publicide offers many other custom stocks that work well with metallic inks and reflective foils too; 100% recycled, brightly colored, heavily saturated and super black matte stock for the blackest business cards. We also stock a full range of metallic + mirror-finish papers, Stardream, Reich Shine + Curious Metallics — all ready for digital printing, letterpress, embossing, offset, and even foil stamping, for those ready to ascend even higher into metal-on-metallic heaven.
METALLIC FOIL STAMPING
Publicide also provides foil stamping, an ink-free opaque metallic print that presses into paper and offers a variety of colors, textures and reflective options. Choose a liquid, mirror-like mylar gold or a brushed silver patina that provides instant panache and elegance to company logos and headlines, or dazzle with a holographic foil available in smooth rainbow, oil-slick, and other prismatic 3D finishes. Most holographic foils have a gold or silver base—so Publicide also offers Clear Holographic which adds a metallic rainbow finish to anything underneath! Gold Foils come in many colors; White Gold, Red Gold (our favorite), Yellow Gold and more! Silver Foils range from dark Gunmetals to blinding Phosphoric Whites, and everything in between. Metallic ink and foil color options run the rainbow gamut beyond the elemental colors too—Emerald Greens, Bright Sky Blue, Light Pink and Deep Scarlet are just a few of the many possibilities.
In addition to colors, the reflective effects or “finishes” available include Mirror Bright Metallics, Satin, Brushed and even Matte Metallic, available in many colors. In addition to foil finishes, the type of paper used can influence the appearance of the foil as well, Shiny Gold Foil on heavy cotton paper takes on a textured brilliance, while Matte Silver on super smooth stock will stun with it’s subtle perfection when the light hits it.
PRICING + PRINT PRODUCTION NOTES FOR METALLIC PRINTING
Pricing for metallic printing is based on quantity, paper type and the number of processes and machines that will be used in creating your order. Therefore, more elaborate and custom print specs cost considerably more than standard orders, so it’s important to get your quote before proceeding. Production time varies with order complexity and our seasonal workload but our elastic schedule allows for very fast rush prints when required, though rush charges apply. Turnaround time is calculated from the date of PDF proof approval. If your metallic printing project has a hard due-date please let us know when making your request. Email us with your design file or specs to receive a custom quote for your printing project. All projects must have a custom quote number to proceed.
RUSH METALLIC INK PRINTING
Some metallic printing specs are available for rush printing service. To inquire about a rush job, please email artwork, print specifications and desired completion date ASAP to firstname.lastname@example.org. If we’re able to accommodate your schedule we will reply with pricing and additional costs for the rush. Rush printing is one of our specialties but please be aware that every moment counts in a rush print schedule. Some jobs will require additional shifts and weekend work to finish on time so the price can be significantly higher than jobs on a regular schedule.
